Phase 4 - Gunite Installation:

The Building Inspector will inspect the work that has been performed. Once you receive his/her approval, the gunite placement will be scheduled. You will need to make your tile selection at this point.

To avoid over spray of the gunite material, backdrop curtains will be placed around the pool. The gunite crew will need access to water with at least 25 pounds of pressure.

When the gunite installation is completed, you must soak the pool shell at least twice a day for 10 days. If the outdoor temperature is above 80 degrees, they recommend watering down 3 or 4 times per day.

FACTS:

  • Gunite Pools are the most durable and you can choose unlimited shapes and sizes.
  • Free form pool shapes are casual and works well with irregular landscapes. Rockwork and waterfalls are more easily to incorporate.
  • Straight line swimming pools are more formal, Mediterranean tone are better for fountains or jets.
